Featured Project

HEI provided initial studies, site design and inspection for the high school addition project for the Princeville CUSD #326. The project consisted of site grading, new pavement, sidewalks, drainage, storm water detention, and water and sewer system design. Coordination with the school district, architect, utility companies and the City of Princeville was critical to ensure that the project met both the needs and budget of the school district, while also complying with local regulations.

HEI provided site design and construction services for the new Waltham School District Middle School. Responsibilities included constant coordination with the architect, IEPA, IDNR, and IHPA coordination, utility coordination, water system design, sanitary sewer design, storm sewer design, storm water detention design, layout plans for sidewalks, parking lots, and playgrounds and grading plans. Due to the project site being located along IL 178, extensive coordination with IDOT was required including a traffic study to determine the need for turn lanes and to obtain an entrance permit.

HEI and Hastings and Chivetta Architects provided design services to complete renovations to the baseball and softball fields at Illinois College. Improvements included synthetic turf and earthen field surfaces, dugouts, press box/restroom facilities, bleachers, electrical, fencing, scoreboards, and associated site work at both facilities. Work items included site survey, site design, foundation/footing designs, storm drainage, sanitary service, water service, synthetic turf drainage system, erosion control, coordination with turf supplier and other associated work.

The project included a new football field, track with rubberized surface, field event areas, concession building with restrooms, maintenance building, locker room, water system, storm and sanitary systems, and a parking lot.

HEI worked with Farmington CUSD #265 to provide design and construction inspection services for track resurfacing, striping, and rehabilitation of field event areas. The track resurfacing consisted of polyurethane bound rubber base mat with a structural spray application to extend the life of the new surface.

HEI provided boundary and topographical surveying, permitting, design engineering and construction testing services for the development of a 136-acre site used for a new handling grain facility. Proposed improvements include site development, utility extensions, widening IL Route 267 and adding traffic signals to the Comfort Drive intersection for the Village of South Jacksonville, for a grain facility with 2 million a bushel of storage and 6,500-feet of loop track connecting to the Kansas City Southern Railroad to the site.

HEI's responsibilities included survey, site design, construction observation and materials testing. The site design included parking lot and sidewalk layout to accommodate ADA accessibility, water and sewer system design and storm water system design including on-site detention.
