James Burke

Bio

He has worked for HEI since his graduation from Bradley University in 1991. He began his career at HEI as a Project Engineer in the firm’s Transportation Department. Since 2007, in addition to serving as Project Manager in the firm’s Transportation Department, he has served as Project Manager in the firm’s Municipal Services Department.

Jim has experience in the planning and design of transportation facilities including local roadways, state highways, urban multi-lane roadway, and rural interstate/expressway projects ranging from simple to complex. As a Project Manager he oversees the development and completion of transportation projects for the firm’s Jacksonville office.

As a Project Manager in the firm’s Municipal Services Department in Jacksonville, Jim is responsible for all phases of municipal projects from funding applications to design/permitting to contract administration. He has designed and managed the development of contract documents for water and sewer main extensions, sanitary sewer separations, elevated tanks, lift stations, water wells, water/sewer treatment facilities, commercial/residential developments, site developments, and marinas/boat access facilities.

Jim works directly with the firm’s Chief Operating Officer to coordinate not only the firm’s transportation project load in Jacksonville, but also the municipal services projects company wide.
