I-74 bridge construction continues in the Quad Cities

Construction continues through the winter on the $1.2 billion project to reconstruct I-74 through Moline and Bettendorf. Substructure construction on the new westbound I-74 bridge over the Mississippi River is the main focus with minor work continuing on both the Illinois and Iowa approaches.


HEI selected for Monmouth Municipal Airport

Hutchison Engineering is excited to announce that we were recently selected through a Quality Based Selection process by the City of Monmouth to provide planning, design and construction services for the Monmouth Municipal Airport for the next 5 years. HEI has been providing aviation services to Illinois airports for over 70 years. We look forward to working with the City of Monmouth and assisting in growing their airport

Pavement removal on Old Galena Rd

Pavement removal has begun on Old Galena Rd. in Peoria County, IL. HEI is on site to provide Construction Inspection.


Hutchison Engineering receives APWA award

Congratulations to the HEI construction inspection team for winning the American Public Works Association "Public Works Project of the Year" for the replacement of the Manito Road Bridge over the Mackinaw River.


HEI Announces new Employee

Hutchison Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the newest addition to our team, Tom Winkelman.  Tom comes to us with nearly 20 years of engineering experience and will be working in our Jacksonville office.  Tom's background includes 15 years experience with IDOT working in the areas of research, materials and most recently in the Bureau of Local Roads & Streets.  As the Local Program Development Engineer, Tom worked closely with the federal and state funding programs available to the local public agencies.  Tom also oversaw the policy unit which was responsible to update the Local Roads & Streets Policy Manual with changes in federal and state law as well as department policy.  Tom's background also includes four years with Continental Cement Company in Hannibal, MO as their technical services engineer troubleshooting concrete construction problems and promoting concrete construction.

Tom’s expertise and background with IDOT will be a great asset to the HEI team and will allow us to better serve our clients.


New hire for HEI

Hutchison Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Noah Livermore.  Noah comes to us with 12 years of construction engineering experience and will be working out of our Moline office.  Noah’s background includes 11 years’ experience working for consultants providing construction engineering services on complex projects throughout Illinois and Iowa.  He has experience on DOT and local agency projects.  In addition, Noah has recent experience as a construction superintendent working for a highway contractor on a complex Iowa DOT project.  Noah is well respected as a Construction Resident.

Noah’s expertise and construction background will be a great asset to the HEI team.

Hutchison Engineering opens a new office in Moline

Hutchison Engineering, Inc. has expanded its operations to the Quad Cities by opening an office at 1518 5th Ave in Moline IL. The new office will allow Hutchison Engineering to better serve our existing clients throughout the Quad Cities area and allow for expansion into Iowa. Gary Hutchison, President and CEO, recently stated "I am excited about opening a new office in Moline and becoming a vested partner in the growth of the Quad Cities metropolitan area."
